What should have made the release of Rocksteady's final chapter of their Arkham series all the more special for me as a fan was spoiled. Just days before the games release came the email I feared after WB Games cancelled the Batmobile Collectors Edition due to problems making its figurine, that WB Games had also chosen to delay the release of the Limited Edition due to problems with the packaging.

I was not best pleased as you can imagine, especially when the delay would be three weeks, with a delivery time of no later then July 14th from the retailer Amazon UK. Replacement codes for the digital version and its content were provided for release day so it was a case of waiting......and waiting!

So I was pleasantly surprised to get a dispatch email July 2nd to say it had been posted out and would receive the next day. Well today it arrived and here is my belated review of the Arkham Knight LE :

Was surprised by size of the box, similar to the Assassin's Creed Notre Dame Edition gor Unity. I had thought that its size may indicate it was also a display stand much as the Arham City CE had but daly not. In an ironic  way I am glad it was delayed as once you removed the outer sleeve you immediately encounter a massive story spoiler on the very packaging itself, which I had heard about but to see it was a shock. Considering its the first thing you see before you can access the game inside was a serious mistake by the marketing team. Luckily the delay gave me time to 100% the main story so no harm done but may not be the same for others.

The game and codes are all in the very nicely produced Steel Book that is the second thing you discover. Great visual design on both inside and outside. The #0 Comic book 'Before the Storm' serves as a nice prequel story giving us an insight into Batman's mindset before the events of Arkham Knight unfold. Beautifully drawn and a nice story to experience adding all the more go the Arkham Knight experience.

The Artbook is larger than I had expected with a warm introduction from Rocksteady's Game Director, Sefton Hill, which was great to see. Containing a treasure trove of concept artwork for the game, with characters and locations from the game, as a fan of comic book and video game art, this is a superb element go the edition.

Of course the main reason I had picked this Edition, the Batman statue. Again it felt larger than expected, never visualised it really in my mind. The level of detail is high with Batman wearing his Arkham Knight Batsuit, standing over Gotham City, forever its protector. It is quite heavy, and discovering batteries surprised me. Had not known that this figurine also lit up but saw light bars on the ground of the city scape. The build is very 'plastic' so handling with care essential. Overall it is a great piece to mark the final story in the Arkham series for me as a fan and a collector.

I am very happy with this Limited Edition, easily one of the finest ones I have purchased. Shame that I could not have experienced on the actual day of release, but as the PIC above shows, fits in nicely and adds to my Arkham City piece for a nice display. For the £80 price I paid I do feel like I got value for money with the extras above the game itself worth the extra spend.

You can read my spoiler free Review of the game itself here. Combined with finally now owning the LE, my experience with Arkham Knight is complete, and I am very happy indeed!
